Hi, my name is Jay Silverstein. Welcome to OccasionalSoundEntertainment.com. I founded Occasional Sound Entertainment (OSE) in 1996 because I was passionate about music and entertainment. I was also keenly aware of the importance it played in the success of life’s most important events such as weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, family reunions, sweet 16 parties, and more.

Since then OSE has played a vital role in helping thousands of tri-state area residents create lasting memories for themselves and their families and friends.

All of our DJs are true professionals who are committed to keeping abreast of the latest musical trends and using only state-of-the-art sound equipment. As such, OSE has more than earned its stellar reputation as one of New York and New Jersey’s top entertainment companies. Jay Silverstein – Owner/Entertainer

Jay’s phenomenal talent, naturally warm personality, charming sense of humor and natural ability to perform has earned him the respect of his clients, peers, and colleagues and resulted in a stellar track record of success in the entertainment business since 1996.

His passion for entertaining and music was ignited when he was as a young child played drums and sang in his school’s chorus. Eventually, Jay was encouraged to enroll in a training course by a DJ who saw him dance and motivate guests at his friend’s wedding. He did so, and in less than two years, he founded Occasional Sounds Entertainment.

Jay has entertained at some of New York’s most iconic locations including The Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island, The World Trade Center and The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Moreover, Occasional Sounds Entertainment has been awarded the prestigious Bride’s Choice Award for two consecutive years and has earned over thirty (and counting) 5.0 Bride’s Choice Wedding review ratings.

Under Jay’s leadership Occasional Sounds Entertainment continues to refresh and expand their repertoire of unique and innovative services without sacrificing the outstanding personalized services their clients demand… and deserve. Dom Aliperti – DJ/Lighting/Video/Entertainer

Dom is one of our finest DJs as well as our lighting and video expert . He is dedicated to keeping Occasional Sounds Entertainment current with the newest, state-of-the-art, cutting-edge industry trends and is extremely skilled in DJ software, montage creation, visual effects and live dance floor simulcasting.

Dom has been a valued, professional and passionate member of the OSE Team for 15 years. In addition his easy-going nature – which makes him a joy to work with – he is also a genius at knowing how to create uniquely memorable experiences.

Joey B. Belasco – DJ/Entertainer

Joey B has been with Occasional Sounds Entertainment for over ten years. He started out in high school focusing on Sweet Sixteen Parties, High School Dances and Proms.

In High School Joey performed in many theatrical musicals and competed in National Dance Competitions hosted in Disney Word. Additionally, he emceed many sweet sixteen parties and high school dances and proms, making him a seasoned and valuable part of the OSE team. Our clients love his wit and charm and find his love – and knowledge – of music to be instantly contagious!

Chris Jago – DJ / Vocalist/Entertainer

We can’t say enough about Chris! When he grabs the microphone and sings, you’ll think “Old Blue Eyes” himself is crooning. Chris has been performing for over four years and has hosted many diverse events such as weddings, dinner shows, birthday parties, talent shows, and much more. e

Well-versed in the music of Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Elvis Presley, and Michael Buble, Chris currently sings in an Elvis/Sinatra tribute show and recently won the 2011 Union County Performing Arts Center Talent Show (no small task)

His eclectic taste in music, passion for singing and audience interaction skills during performances makes him a great addition to any event. We are very excited to have Chris on the OSE team.

Jarred Belasco – DJ/Entertainer

Jared’s devotion and extensive knowledge of current music, beat mixing skills and captivating personality is extraordinary.

Following in his talented Father’s and Brother’s footsteps, Jared is a Sweet Sixteen and Prom specialist. He has been with OSE for 3 years and has a flair for keeping the dance floor moving. Jared is currently attending Brookdale Community College. Paired with one of our seasoned MCs, Jared delights our clients and their guests.
